Hi! I'm Adam, a Senior Partner here at Paralegal Plus. This is my first blog post and I'm not really sure what I'm doing here? But I like writing, and I think there's a lot to share about this cool new adventure! I'm excited to share is that since our soft launch this past January, Tammy and I have been extremely busy juggling setting the office up while working with our amazing new clients! And all of this came very unexpectedly for me...

First, a bit of a backstory...

Paralegal Plus is the brainchild of Tammy Taylor and the third iteration of Tammy's paralegal services business. We are a company that evolves with the needs of our clients. Tammy had humble beginnings assisting clients with residential tenancy dispute matters, to now including flat-fee uncontested divorces, parenting matters, wills, and estate matters. Tammy and I believe that most legal matters can be settled without the emotional and financial costs of going to court. At Paralegal Plus, we strive to transform our clients' lives by making common legal matters affordable and approachable. Why? Because adulting is hard...

As for me...

This past December, Tammy asked me to join the team, working together to build the business. This came at a really crazy time in my life. Currently, at 43 years old, I've returned to school to pursue a law degree (LLB) at Queen's University Belfast. Between school and Paralegal Plus, I split my time between Calgary and Belfast. If everything works out, I expect to be a practicing lawyer in early 2025. I'm no stranger to the legal world, having been an entrepreneur and real estate professional for over a decade. I'm also no stranger to Alberta's Family Law system, having recently gone through a difficult divorce myself, which included me being a self-represented litigant in a three-day trial. In the months and weeks leading up to the trial, I learned a lot about people, the system, and even myself. It's why I decided to pursue becoming a lawyer.
